About

A Gathering of Unasked Possibility is an exhibition and series of events by artists, researchers, and advocates who interrogate issues of contemporary precarity through their practices. The artists and practitioners we will work with have dedicated their practices to addressing a range of issues - climate, political, economic, social - with calls for progressive responses that engage with lucid, active hope as ballast. Our aim is to create a propositional space with breathing room for alternative ways of thinking, expressing, and being.

In November 2019 we launched the inaugural iteration of A Gathering of Unasked Possibility, a week-long exhibition and series of events at Centrespace Bristol. Over seven days and several evenings, we hosted 14 events including workshops, talks, reading groups, walks, making, and residencies. The events attracted a steady stream of participants, many of whom returned multiple times, saying we hit a note that people were seeking. Since then, we have been regularly asked when and where the next Unasked will be.

Building on our learning, this next iteration brings the ethos, activation, and community engagement seeded at Centrespace to London, the Southwest of England, and New York.
